Last September, Nette and I planned a bachelorette party for our friend Maria. We met for cocktails at Fleming's in La Jolla to plan the festivities and decided on a relaxing spa getaway where we could laze by the pool, eat delicious meals and celebrate Maria's last months of being single. We did not want a wild "what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas" style weekend. After a glass or two of wine, it was decided that the venue would be the JW Marriot Palm Desert Springs and Spa. The color of the evening....RED.
Dinner at Morton's Steakhouse where we requested a private room in advance. The food as expected, was very good and the service was excellent. They took great care of our party and made our evening a memorable one. Plus they took many group photos for us.
Driving back to San Diego, we stopped at the picturesque Ponte Winery in Temecula.
Bachelorette weekends can be dramatic affairs. Getting a group together, many of whom just met to spend a weekend "bonding" can be days of fun and laughter or endless bickering and complaining. Thankfully, this was not the case with this party. Everyone was friendly, kind and fun. No drama with this group.
